HNF00-A Mini Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meter (Rigid Plastic Tubing)

The HNF00-A measures ultra-low liquid flow through rigid PFA, PTFE, PP, PU and resin tubing without cutting the tube or contacting the fluid. It covers tube outside diameters from 3 to 22 mm and flow rates from 0.05 to 80 L/min. Integrated electronics provide bidirectional measurement, totalization, bubble detection and configurable filling control, with analogue, pulse and RS485 outputs for OEM systems.

Measure Low Flow Without Cutting the Tube

HNF00-A is made for equipment where the sensor must not touch the liquid. It clamps onto the outside of a rigid plastic tube and measures flow through the tube wall. There is no pipe cutting, no added pressure loss and no wetted measuring chamber.

This makes it a practical choice for ultrapure water, high-purity chemicals and hygienic liquid-transfer systems where contamination and dead volume must be kept out of the process.

Good fit: rigid plastic tubing, clean single liquids, limited installation space and OEM equipment requiring analogue or digital flow signals.

Why Use a Clamp-On Sensor Here?

No fluid contact

The sensor stays outside the tube. The measured liquid does not pass through a sensor body, reducing the risk of contamination in high-purity and hygienic systems.

No pipe cutting

Installation does not require an inline meter body. This simplifies equipment assembly and avoids adding fittings or dead corners to the liquid path.

Measurement and control in one sensor

HNF00-A supports bidirectional flow measurement, accumulated volume, bubble detection and configurable filling control. The electronics are integrated into the sensor body, so a separate transmitter is not required.

Installation and Configuration

Before production, confirm these four items:

  1. Tube material and outside diameter — select the sensor size that matches the actual tube.

  2. Liquid and operating temperature — these affect the calibration.

  3. Normal and maximum flow — the expected operating point should remain inside the selected range.

  4. Required output — specify pulse, analogue or RS485 according to the control system.

Mount the sensor on a clean and undamaged section of rigid tube. Avoid locations where the tube is sharply bent, compressed or exposed to strong mechanical vibration. After mounting, verify zero flow and compare the indicated flow with the equipment operating condition before starting automatic control.

Outputs and OEM System Integration

  • 4–20 mA / 0–20 mA / 0–24 mA: continuous flow feedback to a PLC or controller.

  • PNP / NPN pulse: totalization, filling counts or flow switching.
